Spotlight Campaigns are exclusive, time-sensitive campaigns hosted by Grab for selected merchants. These campaigns are designed to boost visibility and drive sales, and they may change periodically as Grab introduces new opportunities.

How to join a Spotlight Campaign

On GrabMerchant App: 

  1. Open the GrabMerchant app.

  2. Navigate to Marketing tile > Create tab.

  3. Under Join a Spotlight Campaign, select a campaign.

  4. Review the campaign details, including promotion info, marketing entitlements, charging model, and terms.

  5. Confirm that you’ve read and agreed to Grab’s Terms of Service for Merchants.

  6. Once the campaign is live, track its performance under Marketing tile > Manage tab.

 

On GrabMerchant Portal: 

  1. Open the GrabMerchant portal.

  2. Navigate to Marketing tab > Create a campaign section.

  3. Under Join a Spotlight Campaign, select a campaign.

  4. Review the campaign details, including promotion info, marketing entitlements, charging model, stores, and terms.

  5. Confirm that you’ve read and agreed to Grab’s Terms of Service for Merchants. Click on Join campaign to confirm participation

  6. Once the campaign is live, track its performance under Marketing tile > Manage tab.

 

What is “[Grab-Funded] Offer Zone Deals” and how does it work?

[Grab-Funded] Offer Zone Deals is a welcome pack for new GrabFood merchants starting their first Spotlight Campaign with low risk. Grab funds the promo costs for your first 20 orders, giving your store increased visibility in the Offer Zone.

Your first 20 orders:

  • Enjoy 20 Grab-funded redemptions within three months or until all redemptions are used.

  • Pay just $0.30 per successful promo order—no redemptions, no charge.

Note: You cannot opt out during this period.

From the 21st order:

  • Your campaign transitions to self-funded, where you cover the promo costs and $0.30 marketing fee per order.

  • Opt out anytime—stay only if it works for you!

What is PopOffers?

PopOffers is a Spotlight Campaign that provides high-impact visibility. Participating stores appear in a full-screen pop-up on GrabFood, offering a limited-time promotion available for 15 minutes. This helps attract new customers effortlessly, as PopOffers are shown exclusively to 10 new consumers/redemptions daily.

Important notes:

  • Minimum participation: Seven days.

  • PopOffers does not run during Mega Sales.

  • Opt-out process during Mega Sales:

  1. Merchants must opt out within five days before a Mega Sale begins.

  2. If not opted out, participation will automatically resume after the Mega Sale ends.

  3. Grab will provide a heads-up notification before a Mega Sale.

 

How to opt out of a Spotlight Campaign

  1. Open the GrabMerchant app.

  2. Navigate to Marketing tile > Manage tab.

  3. Select the Spotlight Campaign you want to leave.

  4. Go to the Campaign details tab.

  5. Tap Leave Campaign.

Note: Changes may take up to 12 hours to take effect after meeting the minimum participation period.

How am I charged when I join a Spotlight Campaign?

Marketing fees are charged on successful orders driven by the campaign. These may include:

You may also be charged for the promo costs, which is the portion of the consumer discount, which may be fully or partially co-funded by Grab.

 

Spotlight Campaign Example A:

During the campaign, you received 20 promo-qualified orders, each with a $15 gross order value. Here is how you would calculate costs and earnings:

Total gross revenue

20 orders x $15 = $300

Campaign costs

Total Promo Costs: 20 orders x $3 promo = $60

Total Marketing Fee: 10% x ($15 - $3) x 20 orders = $24

Total Campaign Cost (Promo Cost + Marketing Fee): $60 + $24 = $84

Earnings after costs

Total Gross Revenue - Total Campaign Costs: $300 - $84 = $216

 

 

Spotlight Campaign Example B:

During the campaign, you received 20 promo-qualified orders, each with a $25 gross order value. Here is how you would calculate costs and earnings:

Total gross revenue

20 orders x $25 = $500

Campaign costs

Total Promo Costs: 20 orders x $4 promo = $80

Total Marketing Fee: $1.50 x 20 orders = $30

Total Cost (Promo Cost + Marketing Fee): $80 + $30 = $110

Earnings after costs

Total Gross Revenue - Total Campaign Costs: $500 - $110 = $390

 

Spotlight Campaign Example C:

During the campaign, you received 20 promo-qualified orders, each with a $15 gross order value. Out of the 20 orders, 10 were made via advertising placements (e.g. search & listing, campaign carousel). Here is how you would calculate costs and earnings:

Total gross revenue

20 orders x $15 = $300

Campaign costs

Total Promo Costs: 20 orders x (25% x $15) promo = $75

  • Grab Co-funding: $75 x 40% = $30

  • Merchant pays: $45

Variable Advertising Fee: $0.50* x 10 orders = $5

Total Cost (Merchant Promo Cost + Variable Advertising Fee): $45 + $5 = $50

Earnings after costs

Total Gross Revenue - Total Campaign Costs: $300 - $50 = $250

How do I track my campaign performance and marketing spend?

On the GrabMerchant app, go to the Marketing tile > Manage tab > click into the Spotlight Campaign you want to review.

What does the “co-fund” tag in my campaign details mean?

Grab may co-fund selected campaigns, sharing a portion of the promo cost. Co-funding details are visible in the Payment section of the Campaign details page.

Where can I see my spotlight charges

You can see your spotlight charge detail by clicking into the campaign > performance tab > Check Marketing transactions
