Setting up your GrabFood menu is simple and helps customers find what they’re looking for. Whether you’re adding new dishes or organising categories, here’s how you can do it:

Create an item:

I prefer using the GrabMerchant app:\n
  1. On the GrabMerchant app homepage, tap Menu to view items.

  2. Tap Add item (or \"+\" icon) at the bottom-right corner.


     
  3. Tap Add a New Item.


     
  4. Fill in the details for your item.


     
    • Photos: Add photos to your menu item to improve sales conversion. Customers are more likely to choose dishes that are visually appealing. You can upload up to 4 photos for each menu item.
    • Item name: The name of the dish or specific food item (e.g. Chicken Rice). Input item name in title case (e.g. ‘Chicken Burger’, not ‘chicken burger’) and go for a name that is easy to understand.
    • Description (optional): Include a brief description of the item in sentence case (e.g. ‘Served with fries’, not ‘Served With Fries’). Items with descriptions are more likely to be popular with customers.
    • Translation: Translation: To bring more customers to your store, we’ve enabled auto translation of your items’ name and description to tourist-friendly languages. You can edit or remove this feature on the GrabMerchant app. Learn more about auto translation for menus. 
    • Available for: Set the order type your item is applicable for (e.g. if smoothie beverages are only available for Self Pick-up orders, only select Self Pick-up).
    • Price: Set the price of your item. You can set custom prices for different order types. We strongly recommend for menu prices to be the same as those in-store to provide for optimal customer experience.
    • Category: A group of items (e.g. main dish, side dish, dessert or beverages) useful for organising your menu items, so customers can easily find what they want. You can select from existing categories or create new ones.
  5. Add the item attributes > Review Item. And review the item details > Create Item.

Add a new category from the Add a New Item page:\n
  1. Tap the Category field.

  2. At the bottom of the page, tap Add a new category.

  3. Fill in the category name and availability schedule and tap Create Category.

    • Option groups (optional): Offer different options or add-ons (e.g. sugar level, size of drink) for your menu items. Customers can customise their orders based on the options provided. You can select from existing option groups or create new ones.
    • Availability schedule: Select the time your item will be available on the menu (e.g. 9am-12pm on weekdays for a breakfast item). Learn how to create availability schedules for time-sensitive menu items.

      Brand (optional): Select the brand of your item, if applicable.
    • Dietary preferences (optional): Tag your items with dietary information to help customers find the dish they want. Find out more from this list of popular dietary tags you can use.
  4. Tap Review Item once you are done filling in your item details.
  5. Confirm the details and tap Create Item. If you need to make any edit, tap the back button at the top left corner of the page.

  1. On the GrabMerchant Portal homepage, click on the Menu tab > Add new > Item.

  3. Click on Save and add category info.
  4. (Optional) If applicable, select the brand of the item and tag your items with dietary information to help customers find the dish they want. Find out more from this list of popular dietary tags you can use.

Delete an item:

  3. Tap the bin icon at the bottom of the page.

  4. To confirm deleting the item, tap Delete.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Delete item > Save and add category info.
  3. To confirm, click on Delete to permanently remove the item from your menu.

Rearrange an item:

I prefer using the GrabMerchant app:\n
  1. On the GrabMerchant app homepage, tap the Menu tile to view items.
  2. Tap Add item (or \"+\" icon) at the bottom-right corner.

  3. Tap and drag the 2 lines icon behine the item you'd like to rearrange.
  4. When you're done > tap Save changes.

I prefer using the GrabMerchant Portal:\n
  1. On the GrabMerchant Portal homepage, go to Menu > Menu Overview. Under the category with the item you want to rearrange, click on the three dots > Rearrange items.


     
  2. Click on the two lines icon beside the item you want to rearrange and drag accordingly. Once you have reordered the item, click on Save Changes.


     
  3. You will see a notification that your items have been rearranged.

Create a category:

  2. Input the name of your new category. And Select the time this category will be made available on your menu then click on Add Category to save the details.


     
  3. You will see a notification that your category has been created, and you’ll be able to manage it in your category list.

Edit a category:

Delete a category:

  4. Tap and hold the two lines icon beside the category you want to rearrange and shift accordingly.
  5. Tap Save changes to confirm the reorder.
